'Shimmer' Art Print

To welcome the arrival of our tiny hippo calf, Bumpy, celebrated wildlife artist Gary Hodges has gifted us 10 limited edition prints of his works ‘Shimmer' and 'Baby Love’, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting our work.

Gary drew them after he and his partner Dave (co-founder of EIA) visited the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. They spent time quietly observing the hippos and photographing the tender scene, providing Gary’s reference material for the pieces.

With thousands of fans and collectors around worldwide, including several famous names, such as Dame Virginia McKenna, Rula Lenska, Michaela Strachan, and Kristin Davis. Gary’s work is widely admired, including by our founder, Dame Daphne Sheldrick, who loved his drawings and had 'The Orphans' hanging in her Nairobi home for decades.

Since 1987, Gary has sold over 120,000 limited edition prints, many of which have benefited, including the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. In fact, well over one million pounds has been raised for more than 85 charities through his intricate and characterful pencil drawings.
